Kundalini Yoga - An Ancient Form Working for You Now P

Patti Kiriazis, teaches Kundalini yoga, one of the oldest yoga practices from India. This form of yoga complements all other yoga practices and exercise programs. Kundalini yoga helps awaken, energize, strengthen and relax your body and mind. It really works your core system and is great for posture. Through repetitive movement and breathingtechniques you can awaken your health and vitality.

Senior Yoga --Gently effective P


This is an easygoing, effective gentle Yoga to help flexibility, posture and energy.Patti Kiriazis helps students modify yoga practice poses safely. The class provides a ground floor to start from and work up to each student’s optimum comfort level.

Fitness Classics

Fitness Beyond Fifty triathlete- You'll Surprise Yourself P


Push the boundaries of fitness in middle age and beyond with gymnastics and dance instructor Sam Van Fleet. With strength, balance and stability training the class improves awareness of and care for the aging body. Sam invites everyone from the newly curious about fitness to aging athletes. His approach is to keep strong, stable and flexible your whole life long. .$10/class.
Wed., 11AM to 12:15PM.

The class is vigorous enough to require the ability to get up and down for floor work in addition to upright exercise.

Enhance Fitness P

Senior Fitness Instructor, Mo Brule, gets blood flowing, hearts pumping and muscles working in her musical fitness class. Members of Group Health Medicare Part A & B participate free. Others pay by session. Senior Center members pay $35; non-members $42 for 15 classes. Punch cards are available for 10 classes at $37.50.

Stationary Cycling Times Three -- All at Ober Park P

Pile on Miles and Work off Stress Whatever the Weather.
Classes are $10 each in punch card packages of 6 ($60) and 12 ($120). Drop-ins are welcome at $12. There’s no reason not to spin circles around the dropping temperatures.

Straight on Strength P

Kelly Straight applies various strength training modalities including, free weights, stretch bands, exercise balls, weighted bars, balance discs and mat work, and you decide the work load. Modifications are offered for rehab students and those new to strength training. For all, the emphasis is on functional strength. October starts a ski conditioning program on Fridays with additional cardio and leg work.

World Step Aerobics -- P

12 Weeks to a Runrunner -- Make it Fun!


LuAnn Branch invites you to train with her in a fun, supportive group atmosphere to run or walk a Fun Run, a 10K, a 5K or shoot for a half marathon. All levels of fitness are welcome, from first-timers to repeat runners. The program includes a personalized training plan, support and weekend group runs. Fee is $175 and late-comers are pro-rated. Saturday mornings, starting September 11 and ending November 27.

Please Note* Community Sports Programs are designed as adult recreational opportunities. Children under 16 are not permitted.

  • Visit the Vashon Park District's Ober Park office, 8A to 4P weekdays.

Vashon Park District will gladly refund program fees when they are requested a minimum of 7 business days prior to the program start date. Refunds requested fewer than 7 business days prior to the program start date will be provided only for a documented medical reason or as the result of a significant family emergency. For each refund issued, no matter the reason, Vashon Park District will assess a $25 administration fee. THANK YOU!
