Adult Kayak Camp I -- Strokes Camp
Get comfortable with proper paddling and directional techniques. Learn how to avoid capsizing so you can spend the summer building your kayaking skills, observing wildlife in Quarter Master Harbor, and move yourself to the next level of kayaking instruction in Splash & Stroke Camp. The camp runs one day only -- Sunday, June 29 at Jensen Point- starting with first strokes at 9A and closing at 4P after developing second stroke skills. Fee is $100 per person and you only need to know how to swim. CLOSED. THANKS FOR YOUR INTEREST.
Adult Kayak Camp II- Splash & Stroke
Learn proper paddling, effective rescues, how to avoid capsizing and build your confidence for that next adventure with your new kayak – or a rental at VPD’s Vashon Kayak Center. And, instructor David Steel has added navigation to this weekend camp for adults. Day two includes a day trip to Blake Island following your own course. This camp is a bargain; most camps of this type cost twice as much. The camp runs August 2 and 3, from 9A to 4P at Jensen Point. Fee is $150 per person, and you must know how to swim. Register online or in person. Enrollment is limited, so sign-up early!

Adult Sailing Camp – It’s Never Too Late
Learn to sail from Sail USA Certified Instructors. Quartermaster Yacht Club and VPD are collaborating to offer two full days of sailing basics for people over 17. Sailing camp is scheduled for July 19 and August 2 at Quartermaster Yacht Club from 10:00A to 3:00 P each day. Fee is $200 for singles, $350 for couples. Vashon Park District will gladly refund program fees when they are requested a minimum of 7 business days prior to the program start date. Refunds requested fewer than 7 business days prior to the program start date will be provided only for a documented medical reason or as the result of a significant family emergency. For each refund issued, no matter the reason, Vashon Park District will assess a $25 administration fee. THANK YOU!
