This Island-wide youth baseball/softball league is for players from kindergarten through age 14 in five player categories: Shetland, Pinto, Mustang, Bronco and Pony, by age and skill level. Registration runs through February 29; after March 1 a $10 late fee is applied.
Shetland Division -- Players age 5-6 play learn general rules of the game with T-Ball. League Director is Scott Hitchcock. Season fee is $55.

With the recent addition of the indoor training facility on Vashon Island our young athletes have a great opportunity to increase their baseball and softball fundamentals, technical skill and savvy. The indoor facility provides the ideal space to train for pitching, catching, hitting, and fielding in a controlled environment that is warm, dry and safe.

Rowing is a blend of power, balance, finesse, and endurance above the water and below. And, it’s a team sport. Vashon Jr. Crew offers a blend of characters and athletic backgrounds aiming at common goals. In 2010 Vashon earned 12 medals in 17 events at Regional Championships, and were the only crew from the region to medal in multiple events. New rowers will learn the basics of the rowing stroke and get a well-rounded introduction to this novel sport. Varsity and Novice rowers will compete in a couple of regattas throughout the season. Download the registration packet here and bring it into the Ober Park offices. Registration does not guarantee placement on the team. Rowers train Monday through Friday, 3:10 - 5:40 PM at the Jensen Point Boathouse. Season ends May 21, 2012.

Kindergarten League -- Kids get a complete exposure to the game of Basketball. Skills, drills and game play will be led by volunteer coaches for one hour, once a week, for seven weeks. Come out and watch your kids fall in love with the great sport of Basketball. Registration is closed. Kids play Saturdays from December 10 to January 28. Fee is $45, plus tax. Age for kindergarten play starts at 4, by parental discretion.
