Vashon is an Island of parks and the Vashon Park District hosts 18 of them. Vashon Park District provides a mixture of types of land and facility – including wildlife habitat, resource activities, trails, athletic fields, indoor community centers, and special purpose meeting and interpretive centers in accordance with district policies and objectives.  The Park district owns part of the lands and facilities used for its program.  Other facilities are provided through an inter-local agreement with Vashon School District. And, some are managed in concert with the Vashon-Maury Island Land Trust.
