Spring is here – rain, snow and all! – and that means summer will soon be here as well. District staff has been very busy getting fields ready, programs and classes developed, events planned and projects moving forward. There are so many classes to take, events to enjoy, trails and beaches to walk, and summer camps for kids that you can keep your whole family busy through the entire summer. Enjoy it all. It was all created for you!
The Park District Board of Commissioners is interested in how you see the next ten years and beyond unfold for our community and your local Park District. The Comprehensive Plan is being updated right now and if you have some comments or ideas, please let me know. You can email me directly at wendyb@vashonparkdistrict.org.
As you enjoy our parks and park programming, don’t forget to let us know how we are doing. We value the input of each participant in our classes and want each visit to a park to be relaxing and enjoyable. These are your parks!

Commissioners Updating the Park District's
Comprehensive Plan
The Park District is in the process of updating its current Comprehensive Plan. The existing plan adopted in 2001 must be revised to reflect current planning for park development and desired capital improvements. Our goal is to have the revisions in place by June 2, 2008 to allow the District to qualify for grant funds from the state.
We invite you to review the existing plan (NOTE: this is a very large file and will take considerable time to download. Thanks for your patience.) and let us know if you have any comments on any elements, including your ideas on what should be added or removed.

The station was established as part of the emergency operations committee on Vashon. Tune to 1650AM in the event of an emergency for Vashon-specific survival information.

Vashon Park District is rebuilding this website and it includes a photo gallery. We need to feed the gallery monster regularly, and that requires new and interesting photographs of all our parks.
If you've taken some beautiful, fun or interesting photos of our parks, we invite you to share them with the Park District and your community. Simply send electronic prints via email to susanm@vashonparkdistrict.org or put them on a CD and mail them to: Susan McCabe, Vashon Park District, P.O. Box 1553, Vashon, WA 98070
We will credit all photographers on photos that we use, so please send your full name and contact information to assure that we credit you appropriately.

Never again will you or your family miss out on any of those Park programs you want to join!
Just go to the Youth or Adult Activities pages on this site and register all your family members for all the classes, camps, special events and sports activities you want. Choose your favorite program(s) and follow the instructions to register and pay. It’s as simple as that.
Of course, you can still register in person for all classes at the Ober Park District office (206-463-9602), or fax your registrations with payment information to 206-463-9614.
